Reuben Lovett

Reuben started making music as a youngster, learning classical guitar at school and eventually playing with the school jazz band. Keen to learn more, his Dad’s friend and local musician Colin Hartley became something of a mentor, encouraging Reuben to follow his passion. At the same time Reuben was a member of The Everyman Youth Theatre, which has probably helped in the development of his confident stage persona.

After leaving school Reuben studied music at Stroud College, where along with fellow students, he formed the band My Mother Lie. Reuben has also taken the role of session player with both Floorboards, and Edd Donovan and the Wandering Moles.

Reuben’s music is sensitive and thoughtful, with a soulful drive that rides, galloping, through his angsty guitar work and delicious vocal lines.
